monoPlane - Technology and Use Case

monoPlane is based on Microsoft.NET framework which has to be installed prior to using (see the requirements section).

A typical workflow for creating a website with monoPlane Web Designer might be similar to the described below:

  • Install MWD on the development machine.
  • Use MWD to create a new web project.
  • Modify the default New Project template to form the structure of your website and create a Table of Contents (Tree Menu) by adding tree menu items (Table of Contents).
  • Prepare your information as XML files, HTML pages or ASP.NET user controls.
  • For XML data, use default XSL templates (provided) or create your own.
  • Link your data files with templates into the Table of Contents (Tree Menu).
  • Setup properties for each Menu Item and linked document.
  • Setup Web Project properties.
  • Configure panels, color schemes, link CSS files.
  • Build and test the project on your local machine.
  • When finished testing, copy the project to your target server using a file manager or an FTP utility.
